In the early 1970s, Bilmar Nurseries decided to cut some of our Colorado blue spruce and Douglas fir to sell as Christmas trees. We put them on the front lawn of the farm house and the rest as they say is history! We’ve been selling Christmas trees to families across the region ever since. Many families come back year after year for our quality trees and the family fun.
We have three separate cut-your-own-farms - Bilmar Nurseries – Fabulous Firs – Sonny Sky's. We put tremendous time and effort into the maintenance and growing of all of our trees. We feed our trees to ensure proper growth and color. We mow the grass around our trees to provide the best environment for growth and strength. We sheer during the summer months to encourage a beautiful, even shape. And if Mother Nature doesn’t provide the rain, we irrigate
to keep our trees healthy and hydrated.
Over the years, the hard work and dedication has been very rewarding. We have numerous First place ribbons including best in show many times from the Dutchess County Fair including 2010 and 2011.
But that’s not all! Over the past 20 years, we have competed at the New York State Fair. In addition we have been awarded numerous First place ribbons including the Grand Champion 4 times most recently

All of our three Christmas Tree farms have saws, tree baling, tying twine, and restrooms at no charge.
